One thing that I love about the Slits’ “Typical Girls” (which has many reasons to love it) is that none of the recorded versions I hear sound the same — each take sounds like it was taped off a record player malfunctioning in a slightly different way. This version comes off to me like it was taken from a record player moving at 36 or 37 rpm instead of the normal 33; the MP3 that I ripped from my copy of Cut has a glitch on the second verse that results in the song sounding like it’s been briefly screwed down to 28 rpm. (It quickly recovers.)
